Fansly is an internet content subscription service which is used primarily by content creators who produce pornography.

Fansly is a subscriber-based platform that allows content creators to hide photos, videos, and other types of content behind a paywall. Users can access that content by paying a monthly subscription fee. Many creators on Fansly also offer additional services for tips, such as photos, videos, and private messages. The website was reported to have 2 million content creators and 130 million active users as of 2023.[1]

History[edit]

Fansly was launched in 2017 as a platform for performers to provide clips and photos to followers for a monthly subscription plan.[2]

Fansly has attracted a lot of well-known creators, including Amouranth, a Twitch streamer.

During the 2023 Streamer Awards, Fansly is shown as a sponsor, which caused controversy to streamers. Content creators like Ludwig Ahgren shared their thoughts in April about how the sponsorship of these adult sites can cause harm to the youth since Twitch is extremely popular towards child viewers. A Twitch streamer, xQc, was a sponsor at that time and later claims that he was not aware about his correlation with Fansly.[3]
