Farhad Kashani (Persian: فرهاد کاشانی; born 5 September 1965) is a writer, pilot, world traveler, retired CEO. He is the first Iranian to travel to 192 out of 195 member states of the United Nations. He is also the first Iranian-born auto and aviation journalist, with hundreds of publications in Machine Magazine since 1980. He has also published nine books on various topics such as management, airplanes, automobiles, electric vehicles, and traveling. His Instagram boasts over 120k followers, while he does not follow anyone.
Personal life and career[edit]
Farhad Kashani was born on September 5, 1953 in Tehran, Iran. He first traveled to the United States in 1977 and became a permanent resident in 1980. He was a manufacturing executive for twenty years before returning to Iran to start Arya Diesel Motor to assemble Renault Trucks tractor trailers. The company became number one in customer satisfaction three years in a row under his leadership. In 2013, he returned to the United States and opened an airplane dealership in Palo Alto Airport.[1]
He received his B.S. in Agricultural Engineering from Shiraz University and his MBA from Harvard Center for Management Studies in Iran. He is also a Certified Reliability Engineer, Certified Quality Engineer, and Certified in Production and Inventory Management and has taught many courses at colleges, companies and online.
He solo-ed on a single engine plane in 1973 and has 300 hours of flight time and has been an aviation expert for Iran International TV of London[2]. He was also the first Chairman of the Society of Iranian Professionals in Northern California and founder of the Iranian High-tech Executives of America, with 150 members.
He is a Gold member of Travelers Century Club who has seen 229/329 countries and territories recognized by this club.
