Farseer is a Croatian software company that develops enterprise financial planning and performance management (FP&A) software. The platform is designed for medium and large organizations to manage budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, positioning itself as an alternative to traditional spreadsheets and established vendors such as SAP, Oracle and IBM.[1][2]

History

Farseer was founded in Zagreb in 2020 by Matija Nakić, Luka Mijatović, Zrinko Dolić and Matej Trbara.[1] The company launched its commercial operations in 2022 and within two years became profitable.[2]

In February 2023, Farseer raised a US$1.5 million investment round led by Apertu Capital, a Silicon Valley–based venture capital fund known for backing deep tech startups. Croatian VC firm SQ Capital also participated, alongside angel investors including Marko Kovač (Repsly), Viktor Marohnić (Five), and Angus Lovitt (formerly of King, maker of Candy Crush Saga).[3]

As of 2025, the company employed 27 people and was preparing for its Series A funding round.[4]

Product

Farseer provides a no-code platform for financial and operational planning, reporting, and analysis. Its proprietary in-memory calculation engine, called Rama, enables multidimensional financial modeling and supports millions of operations per second.[2]

The platform includes driver-based planning, scenario modeling, and collaborative forecasting. It integrates artificial intelligence capabilities that automate routine finance tasks, run continuous simulations, and provide proactive insights. Users can interact with Farseer AI through natural language queries, including via messaging platforms such as WhatsApp.[4]

Clients

As of 2024, Farseer’s software was used by companies including Hrvatski Telekom, A1, Podravka, Končar, Violeta, Franck, Dukat, Mazars, InterCapital, Plinacro, JGL, and Hrvatska Lutrija.[1][4]

Recognition

Farseer has been listed twice among the global “Third Generation FP&A” tools by international FP&A analyst Paul Barnhurst.[1] It was also named among Novac.hr’s TOP25 most promising Croatian startups to watch in 2022 and 2023.[2][3]

In 2025, Farseer was named a Regional Finalist at the Global Startup Awards – Central Europe, shortlisted in the categories "Startup of the Year" and "Best AI-Enabled Startup".[5]
