Faruk Asicioglu
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Faruk Asicioglu (born May 25, 1961) is one of the prominent forensic expert of Turkey. He graduated from Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Faculty of Medicine in 1985. After completing his Forensic Medicine specialization in 1994, he worked in various departments of the Council of Forensic Medicine which is the main organization of Turkey at the field of Legal Medicine, affiliated to the Ministry of Justice till 2014. His career at the Council of Forensic Medicine consists of different managerial and expertise steps such as the head of forensic biology department and the 5th Specialization Board operating in the field of Forensic Toxicology and Forensic Genetic (He still continues this role part-time). He pioneered the establishment of the first blood stain pattern analysis laboratory in Turkey within the Council of Forensic Medicine. He became Associate Professor at Forensic Medicine in 2004 and Professor in 2014. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Istanbul on Medical Biology and Molecular Genetics in 2006 (1-4). First X-STR analysis for forensic purpose was done with his PhD thesis in Turkey.
In addition to his articles published in numerous national and international journals, he has authored four books (as sole authored: Questioned Document Examination and Fraud Reports; Alcohol in Terms of Driving Safety in Traffic; as co-authored: Bloodstain Pattern Analysis; Forensic Sciences for the Curious and Enthusiastic). He also edited three books (Questioned Document Analysis: Handwriting, Signature, Fingerprint, Forgery; Handwriting and Signature Analysis in Forensic Sciences; Evaluation of Fire and Explosion in terms of Forensic Sciences) in which many chapters were written by him. In addition, he supported many young writers by preparing chapters for their books at the field of forensic sciences (2-5)
