Fatal Urge Carefree Kiss
Fatal Urge Carefree Kiss (born Amanpreet Singh Rai) is an Indian Origin Aussie Producer and Writer. He has so far authored two independent and continuing novel series (a total of seven novels), ‘Mishiida Alexander’ and ‘God of a Man’,[1] and has recently revealed plans to write another three-book series titled ‘The White Warrior’, and a standalone story titled ‘Jeanie Johnny’.[2] Musically, his unique style involves releasing an album single by single over a period of time, with song styles ranging from hardcore Rock to Rap, to fusion of Dubstep, Bhangra, House and Pop. So far he has released three complete music albums, supported by three music videos, a handful of independent Punjabi tracks, and the first few tracks of his fourth album. He is the first artist to use album art to tell a story of its’ own, via the album art released in support of songs from his fourth album ‘Galactic Rider Enchanted Angels Timeless Stories’. He also created a new genre of music called ‘Chillax’ with his very first album, ‘I’m Fine’.[3]
Early life and Education[edit]
Aman was born to a Jatt Sikh family based in Punjab (India), on 25 March 1979, at Patiala. He did his schooling from ‘General Gurnam Singh Public School, Sangrur’, and ‘Bachelor of Science’ from ‘Government Mohindra College, Patiala’. In 2000 he completed his ‘Bachelor of Education’ from ‘State College of Education, Patiala’, and in 2003 he completed his ‘Master of Forensic Science’ with a University Gold Medal from ‘Punjabi University, Patiala’.[4]
In 2007 he migrated to Adelaide (Australia) and became an Australian Citizen in 2009. In 2014 he started ‘Bachelor of Laws’ at ‘University of Adelaide’ in Australia, and completed the course in December 2016. His official website and Twitter account mention him as currently doing a ‘Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice’, although there’s no mention about when or if it would be completed.
Music[edit]
Aman started learning music, drums, guitar, piano, and tumbi in 2010. After putting in almost eighteen months of regular tutor supported training of drums and piano, self teaching guitar and tumbi, and about three months of singing classes, he made his debut with the first single from his debut album ‘I’m Fine’, titled ‘Dance’, in July 2011.[5] He initially released all his music to online stores through the services of Tunecore,[6] before withdrawing it completely and putting it out as free downloads via his own website. Finally in 2017 he moved his entire music catalogue exclusively to Google Play Music.[7]
First Album: ‘I’m Fine’[edit]
Starting with the single ‘Dance’, released in July 2011, and ending with the twelfth single ‘City of Cowards’, released in December 2012, the album is a wide ranging mix of Rap, Rock, Dubstep fused tracks, and Pop. A music video for one of the songs, ‘Never let you go’, based on a story concept developed by him, was shot in Philippines and released in June 2013. This album set up the trend that Aman has followed since, with every twelfth single of his every album being a hard hitting socio-political comment. His song ‘City of Cowards’ hits hard at the importance of challenging whatever one finds wrong in their society. His other songs cover a wide range of emotions, with ‘If I were to die’ being an out and out romantic song. There were peppy numbers in the album like ‘Ain’t she a girl’ and ‘Give you a name’, while singles like ‘Just for you’ were mellow in meaning but pulsating in beat. He created a new music genre with the release of this later song that he called ‘Chillax’, and went on to release a few more tracks in the same genre.[8]
‘Chillax’[edit]
Aman defines Chillax as a style of music where there is an internal strife in the rhythm and harmony of the composition; while one is kept deliberately fast, the other is given a deliberate slow feel, like having a lingering melody on a peppy beat.[9] The effect is further enhanced by panning a prominent musical element on two opposite ends (Right and Left) in a way that there is a slight delay, less than the time it takes to create an echo sound, creating a very subtle time gap between the time the two ear drums of a listener using a headphone are impacted. While the brain still comprehends the sound as one, the slight delay creates a feeling of being massaged by music from ear to ear, and thus the name ‘Chillax’ for the genre.
Second Album: ‘Ferocious by instinct’[edit]
Still learning new tricks of trade, Aman took a very experimental approach to his second album. He mixed two different times (4/4 and 3/4) in his very first single from the album; ‘You wanna love me’. In his second single from the album ‘Lights of Glory’ he tried to transpose the scale of music compared to his singing scale by a factor of two tones, thus effectively singing at the third note based scale. The two experiments are perhaps the weakest links in an otherwise beautifully compiled mix of Rap, Rock, House, Dubstep and Pop. The twelfth single of this album, ‘Lights of Glory (Master Mix)’ took his musical style to a new height, and is a very hard hitting song about struggle to get well-deserved recognition. He mixed funk with his song ‘Time-machine (Funk there)’, and other prominent tracks include ‘Star of my night’, ‘Who knows where it goes’, both very peppy and dance oriented tracks, ‘Darling when you coming home’ and ‘Bankrupt in love’, which is an out and out ex-shaming track fused with Dubstep. In fact, like his twelfth single as being a hard-hitting socio-political affair, he has developed another tradition of adding at least one ex-shaming track in his albums. In January 2015 he released the music video for his song ‘Show me the woman that you are’ in support of the album. The video was shot in Bali, and was the first video produced, directed, choreographed and edited by him.[10]
Third album: ‘Someone U Can Kiss’[edit]
This album marks the coming of age of ‘Fatal Urge Carefree Kiss’ as a music producer.[11] A Rap dominated album (which makes a very sharp contrast with his fourth album), he stretched his abilities as a singer and a songwriter on almost every second song of the album, the result being tunes that feel highly melodious yet vulnerable at the same time. ‘Fresh like a firefly’ is an out and out dance track, while ‘Tell ‘em I’m your man’ and ‘All eyes on me’ are naughty by nature. ‘Now dance bitch’ and ‘Heart won’t cry’ are two ex-shaming tracks, while ‘B.A.D. (Bold And Dangerous)’ is the twelfth socio-political statement track. “Heel’ is his first English-bhangra fusion track meant for the dance-floors from across India to England, Australia to US, ‘In my darkest hour (Rocket in the sky)’ is a very soft romantic number with a strong beat. ‘The Devil in Prada’ does the duty of the album’s rock song, while ‘Koka’ is a completely Punjabi language track. He released a video for the song ‘B.A.D.’ in January 2017, shot in Adelaide using an action cam. The video was shot by his brother and uses creative common images as filler elements, but is marred by quality issues like shaky camera.[12] Aman has explained how his brother had never shot a video before, how they had no supporting equipment (including lights, dollies and trolleys), and the video was shot on a budget of zero dollars.
Fourth Album: ‘Galactic Rider Enchanted Angels Timeless Stories’[edit]
This is an out and out commercial album; the first for ‘Fatal Urge Carefree Kiss’. After using Autotune only in the very first two songs he had done in his debut album; ‘Dance’ and ‘Lost in love’, this is the album with uses Autotune extensively, and the first where he has used Vocoder and Resonator.[13] He has tweeted how this album is meant to be a commercial product rather than the artistic and derivative art that his previous albums had been. The album opened with the first single ‘Blackhole’ which, for a surprise, is a socio-political statement, although Aman has clearly stated that the tradition of twelfth single will continue. The unique feature about this album is Aman’s use of the singles’ artworks to portray a story of their own. The artworks follow a fictional character ‘Galactic Rider’ on his journey through space. The first four singles’ artworks depict him meeting a group of girls who are out to rescue their kidnapped princess, and how he helps them. The fifth and sixth singles artworks depict him getting involved in the story of a fictional cat-woman that he rescues from being killed by her enemies. Musically, ‘Bon-Appetite’, ‘Booty Bounce’ and ‘Red Ridding Hood hot’ are peppy dance tracks, while ‘Hot bodies and wet souls’ is a romantic song with a deep beat. The theme of space travel permeates all the songs of the album released so far, which is still a work in progress.
Independent tracks and launching his brother[edit]
In 2017, he launched the singing career of his brother, Gagan Rai, with two independent Punjabi singles that are not a part of any album yet. Titled ‘Na Na Daro Na Rakano’ and ‘Jandi Jandi’, the two songs are peppy dance tracks meant for dance floors. Two other songs released independently outside albums include ‘Sheeshe Moore’ and ‘Tu rehnde’ that are both an ode to the beauty of a precocious girl.[14]

Writing[edit]
So far Aman has written seven novels that comprise two independent and ongoing series, ‘Mishiida Alexander’ and ‘God of a Man’, and a movie script titled ‘Incidentals – The Brides’ Grooms’.[15] He has recently announced a third novel series ‘The White Warrior’ which he says would be set in Tolkien Universe, but post Tolkien times, and a standalone novel titled ‘Jeanie Johnny’ that he says would go straight to print, unlike his previous works that are e-books available via Amazon Kindle, and partly via his own website and blogger pages.
In his novels ‘God of a Man – Infinity Confined’ and ‘God of a Man – Across Two Eternities’, he connected the two universes where the series ‘Mishiida Alexander’ and ‘God of a Man’ are taking place, as two colliding universes, and established that the two are different from our actual universe. This serves two purposes; one it explains the timeline inconsistencies of the two series from our universe, and two, it creates a ripe ground for some juicy cameos by the prominent characters of the two series. In fact, where the first story arc of ‘God of a Man’ series ends, two of the leading characters appear headed to make a cameo in ‘Mishiida Alexander’ series, while two others appear headed towards a spin-off series.

Movie project and crowd-funding[edit]
Around mid 2015 Aman wrote the script for a movie titled ‘Incidentals – The brides’ grooms’, and set out to source funds for the same. Unable to find any financial backing, he launched a crowd-funding campaign for the same on GoFundMe website,[16] and backed that campaign by doing live shows in Rundle Mall, Adelaide.[17] The campaign however was an abject failure, and finally withdrawn by Aman in 2017, with a bitter Aman going on to state how the movie will neither be made on donations, nor in Adelaide.[18] His official Twitter page still mentions the status about the project as ‘seeking finance partners’, although the exact time-frame or details about how the project will proceed from here are as of yet unknown.[19]

Controversies[edit]
On 15 February 2010, Aman was apprehended by LAPD outside the house of US based musician and well known YouTuber 'Marie Digby', who accused him of stalking her and sending her inappropriate emails. Later that day he was taken to the mental patients’ ward of University of California and Los Angeles County hospital, and admitted for a three day observation. The next day however he was found to be fit and allowed to return to Australia on his pre-planned journey, while a restraining order was put in place.[20] At that time he was a school teacher registered with ‘Teachers Registration Board’ of South Australia, and was thus asked to explain his situation to an inquiry conducted by the board. He was subsequently asked to undergo a psychological re-examination by the board, which he refused, accusing the board officials of harassing and victimizing him, and overlooking the weight of evidence that supported his version of the events. His claim was that the restraining order was based on fabrication and lies, that LAPD had acted outside of the law, and that the board is now assisting the cover-up by pressuring him. His teachers’ registration was suspended, while he went public with all the evidence related to the events, including all the messages that he had written to Marie. There was expected online backlash from Marie’s supporters, some of whom went on to write highly disparaging comments about him on his website’s front page. But rather than removing those comments, Aman chose to reply to each one of them with reasons, including replying to one such message that the only reason he is fighting for is; to show to others that one incident does not mean one's entire life has ended. His assertion was that many people get suicidal and set off on self-destructive paths because of one event that might not even be their fault. He wanted to give those people a hope. He has since gone on to produce more than three albums, written seven novels, done a new degree, and is busy creating more work, and has thus, arguably, stood up to his words.
In 2015, the Department of Children Service Screening Unit refused to give him clearance to work with children on issues unknown to him, but presumably because of the events noted above. This severely impacted his ability to finance any more external projects like the first two music videos that he had produced using his own funds, and thus lead to the eventual zero dollar budget music video for the third album. Aman however, once again went public and uploaded the entire evidence for people to judge for themselves.[21]
Political views[edit]
A very strong vocal supporter of democracy and what he calls ‘evolution of democracy’, he is known to defy political correctness norms and raise dissenting arguments against anything and everything under the sun. His pet projects involve two political parties that he established; ‘Always Shine Australia Party’ and ‘Vijayi Veer Vishesh India Party’. His style generally involves making YouTube videos on sensitive issues, and writing blogs for his website and blogger profiles. Two of his pet proposals are namely; ‘Equalism’ that he describes as ‘Capitalism with a Socialist cap’, and ‘Familism’ which he claims should replace ‘Feminism’ (which he accuses of being lopsided in view and denying men have any natural rights or needs).
Originally a ‘911 controversy’ theorist, and influenced by Hollywood’s own take of the events, he questioned the official explanation of events, releasing a lengthy (almost half hour) YouTube video of his own in 2010.[22] He explained his views and why he questions the official version again in another tighter video on the same subject in 2017,[23] before he finally released a very short video the same month, explaining how the official version gave the right conclusion but the wrong reasons.[24] His explanation was that it was not the temperature caused by fires that weakened the structure, but rather the impact of the planes that damaged the structure enough, and the fires then aggravated the already deteriorating situation. Thus he finally answered the conspiracy theory arguments about the event that had troubled his own comprehension of the situation.
Personal Life[edit]
A self-proclaimed ‘virgin’,[25] Aman is currently single.
