Fatema Gulamabbas Dewji (born 4th March 1988) is a Tanzanian Author, speaker[1] and Businesswoman[2]. Fatema is a Director of Marketing[3] at Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania Limited (MeTL) Group[4][5]. She is also matron for Simba Queens Tanzania, a female sports team for the main team Simba SC[6][7]. Fatema released two books "Marketing for an African Powerhouse"[4] and “Storyteller: Build a Story for your Brand, Capture Hearts and Transform your Business.” In 2020, Institut Choiseul[8] named her as among the top 100 most talented young economic leaders[9]. In 2020, Fatema was awarded as Best Corporate Leader of the Year in Social Media at Tanzania Digital Awards.[10][11][12]
Family, early life & education
Fatema was born on the 4th of March 1988 in Dar-Es-salaam, Tanzania. She is the last of six children of Gulamabbas and Zubeda Dewji and sister of Mohammed Dewji[12]. Fatema received her primary and secondary education in Dar-Es-salaam at the International School of Tanganyika (IST) in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. In 2006, Dewji attended Georgetown University in Washington, D.C, and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Finance.[4]
Career
Appointed as the Director of Marketing at MeTL in 2010, Fatema has since been managing and is responsible for creating the umbrella brand- MO[4]. In 2013, Fatema founded a TV show called Educate, Empower and Inspire. Dewji conducted over 50 interviews from the first female scientist in Tanzania, Mwele Mwalecela to, Mehdi Hasan. Dewji has been selected as the matron of Simba Queens[13][14][15] Tanzania which is the female team of the main team Simba SC, managing the 2019 to 2020 Female League Champions.[16][17]
