Fatima Al-Fihri Open University is an international non-profit university founded in February, 2016. The instituion is registered in Estonia, but exists only in digital environment. The main idea of creating such university was providing low-cost higher education and classes for the youth around the world, especially from developing countries.
Courses[edit]
As at mid-July 2021, FAOU offers two international certificates: MBA track and Migration Studies, and various courses in such specialties as management, marketing, computer science, health science and international relations.[1].
Internships and ambassadors programs[edit]
Fatima Al-Fihri Open University launched its program of internships in 2017. It opens every 3 months, and by 2021 it hosted more than 400 interns, coming from 93 countries[2]. Interns work fully remotely and have a flexible schedule unless they meet deadlines[3]. Internships arranged in various departments and offices of the institution such as human resources, communication, marketing, pedagogical affairs, social media, IT and others[4].
Ambassadors program of FAOU was created for promotion the University and e-learning in general[5]
Reasearch[edit]
In 2021 FAOU launched Social Sciences Lab to support research and networking in the MENA region[6]. The Saturday Lecture Program is conducted as a part of this program.
