Fattydove is a brand of electronics products whose SSD product line, known as Fattydove Racing, gained notoriety in technology circles for its unusual branding.[1]

Branding[edit]

Fattydove SSDs were sold in pink boxes with the phrase Fattydove Racing and a large white dove on the front.

Notoriety[edit]

In 2019, online tech reviewer Druaga1 posted a video where he installed Arch Linux onto a Fattydove Racing SSD.[2]

While the previous video was limited to a niche audience, in early 2020, tech reviewer Linus Sebastian published a review of a Fattydove Racing SSD that received over 2 million views. In the video, he ridiculed the drive's branding and many aspects of its performance.[3][4] After the video was published, users on online hobbyist forums, Fattydove Racing product pages, and social media websites such as Reddit published Internet memes, jokes, and commentary about the brand.

As of 2020, the Fattydove Racing line appears to be discontinued.
