The Fear Street film series consists of horror movies, developed and produced by 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment. After The Walt Disney Company purchased most of 21st Century Fox's assets and subsidiaries, they absorbed the Fear Street trilogy as well. Ultimately, Netflix bought the distribution rights to the films, with the movies scheduled to be released exclusively as Netflix Original Films for the streaming service.
The films are scheduled to be released in 2021, with each film debuting one month after the previous. The series was teased during a 2021 preview released by Netflix on January 12 of that year, noting the unusual release schedule for the trilogy to be released in one calendar year.[1]
