All activities are coordinated by one of the following Standing Committees, each of which are headed by a chairperson who forms part of the Executive Council:

Headquarters[edit]
FAMSA’s headquarters are located at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, with the caretaker association being the University of Ibadan Medical Students’ Association (UIMSA). The Headquarters serves as the center for archives, a focal point for membership recruitment, interagency collaboration and partnership-building. It also assumes the functions of the executive council when its tenure lapses.
General Assembly[edit]
This is the highest authority and policy making branch of FAMSA that holds meetings annually.
The purpose of the General Assembly is primarily to disseminate information through scientific sessions held on topical health issues. In addition, workshops are held to discuss the issues that emerge in the papers. The aim of the workshops is to draft the resolutions of the General Assembly, which are then discussed and adopted at a plenary session.
Furthermore, the General Assembly provides a platform for FAMSA programs in the preceding year to be evaluated, new programs to be initiated and a novel FAMSA Executive Board to be elected. These are usually done at the Business meetings during the General Assembly
