The Federation of Asian-Oceanian Neuroscience Societies (FAONS) is a corroboration of Asia-Pacific and Oceanic region neuroscience societies. The federation was established for the advancement of neuroscience research and education in the Asia-Pacific and Oceanian countries like China, Australia, New Zealand, etc.[1][2] FAONS was founded in 1996 with the president of Australian Neuroscience Society.[3] Dr Yoo hun suh is a council member of Federation of Asian Oceanian Neuroscience Societies. Federation of Asian-Oceanian Neuroscience Societies is a member and an affiliated organization to the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO).[4]

Activities[edit]

The Federation of Asian Oceanian Neuroscience Societies holds members to around 20 Asian, Australian and Pacific Island countries’ societies.[5][6] Federation of Asian Oceanian Neurosciences Societies holds a symposium congress every four years. These congresses are a joint meeting of the Neuroscience Societies, members or non-members of FAONS. Previous congress of the federation was held in 2010, in Lucknow, India.[7] The symposium was organized on “brain ageing and dementia”.[8]
