Nieder was born in Elmshorn in 1993.[4] In 2013, he graduated at the Elsa-Brändström-High School in the same city. In 2014 he began studying law at the University of Hamburg and graduated shortly before his final degree.
Since 2021: modeling career[edit]
In 2021, Nieder was nominated by the men's magazine GQ Germany as the Man of the Year. The nomination gave him his first major exposure.[6] Since then he has worked for fashion brands such as Dawid Tomaszewski, Guido Maria Kretschmer, Otto and Marcel Ostertag. Nieder achieved further attention when he walked the runway during the German Fashion Week in the summer of 2022 in a bridal skirt[3] by Dawid Tomaszewski, holding up the sign "Love is Love".[7] Several mayor press pictured him as a result, discussing whether men can also wear women's clothes.[8][9] From then on, he addressed critical issues in public, such as pink washing and the genderfluid use of fashion. Since 2022 he is the most booked male model in Germany.
In February 2023, his life was shown by reports and documentaries in the show DAS! on NDR as well as ARD, because he was several times bullied as a child due to his homosexuality.[10][11] The media gave him the title "The Gender-fluid Model" since he moves fluently in fashion between the sexes.[8][12][13] The production team went with him back to the Elsa-Brändström-High School to portray the bullying scene. In January 2023, Nieder announced his biography "Als mein Schwules Ich starb: Die Wiedergeburt eines jungen Mannes in die queere Welt zwischen Homophobie, Outing und Pink Washing" (translation "When my gay ego died: The rebirth of a young man into the queer world between homophobia, outing and pink washing") to be published by Komplett-Media on August 2, 2023. In the book he processes his journey as a gay man and the abuses in the fashion world.[14]
