Ferdy Sambo (born 19 February 1973) is a former high-ranking Indonesian National Police officer. He last served as Pati Yanma Polri with the rank of Inspector General of Police. He is known for the killing of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, where he was named as one of the suspects of the killing alongside his wife, Putri Candrawati,[3] and three of his police adjutants. He was dishonorably discharged on 27 August 2022[4][5][6] following an investigation from the Indonesian Police Ethics committee.[7][8]
His previous position was Dirtipidum Bareskrim Polri (2019), promoted to Head of Propam Polri (2020) and transferred to Pati Yanma Polri (2022).
Personal life
Ferdy Sambo graduated from the Police Academy (Akpol) in 1994. His career in the police was fairly successful, especially in the field of detectives. Ferdy Sambo married Putri Candrawati, who previously had a career as a dentist, and has three children aged 17, 15, and 1.5 years old. There has also been controversy about his wealth, with the public wondering how he owns various luxury cars and owns several properties across the country despite the salary for police generals in Indonesia.[9]
Career
Before serving as the Head of the Propam Police Division, Inspector General Ferdy Sambo was trusted as the Dirtipidum of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. Ferdy Sambo's career in the National Police has skyrocketed since he was promoted from Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of West Jakarta Police to Chief of Police of Purbalingga, Central Java (Central Java) in 2012.

Killing of Brigadier Yosua
Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat was shot at the Jakarta home of Inspector General Ferdy Sambo, head of internal affairs of the Indonesian National Police, on 8 July 2022 at approximately 17:00 Western Indonesian Time. Hutabarat, a bodyguard and driver for Sambo, was said to have died after a shootout with another member of the protection team, 'Bharada E',[10] allegedly after Hutabarat sexually harassed Sambo's wife, Putri Candrawati. After the shooting, Hutabarat was transported by ambulance to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, though news of the shooting was delayed until 11 July 2022.[11]
