As a writer, he wrote some essays on subjects such as pedagogy, psychology and the humanism.[1]
Life[edit]
Filippo Tarantino was born in 1943. After he graduated in storia e filosofia (i.e. "history and philosophy"), he was appointed as a teacher in the same subjects for Italian high schools; in particular, he worked as a teacher in school Liceo scientifico Federico II di Svevia, located in Altamura, where one of his pupils was Italian actor Sergio Rubini.[2]
In 1991, he was promoted headmaster of Liceo classico Luca de Samuele Cagnazzi, in Altamura, where he brought the school to the highest numer of enrollments ever reached. He held the position of headmaster until retirement, occurred at the beginning of the 2010s.
In 2011, as a headmaster, he went to Tokyo, Japan, with his wife for "preparations for an exchange between schools". During his stay, a strong earthquake occurred, which caused him fear and troubles, with a return ticket paid around 4000 euros and an alleged lack of proper assistance by the local consulate.[3]
