Business Model
Findworka services are priced differently according to the discretion of the service providers. Findworka charges the service provider ten percent (10%) for every completed project. To date, Findworka has been totally bootstrapped. The company’s CEO, Dele Bakare, has however stated at different tech meetups that “once we find the right partners that share our passion for empowering artisans and professionals, we definitely would raise”. Findworka exists as a web app only and Dele has stated that the mobile apps are currently in development phase and would be released before the end of the year. The service is available in Lagos only.[citation needed]
Features
Findworka maintains a bilateral web platform for clients and service providers. These service providers could range from professional IT personnel to handymen. To buy or sell a service, users must have a bank account and create a profile. With this information, Findworka’s monitoring officers can go on to begin the verification process, especially for handymen because of the need for offline visits. The website features include a robust dashboard for managing requests, viewing project status, sending and receiving messages, creating and accepting deals and a wallet section for managing payments.
Findworka Deals
In June 2016, a few months after getting out of beta, the company launched Findworka deals. A Findworka deal is a packaged service with a clear discount that is sold by the promoting service provider. These deals are typically at a highly reduced cost compared to regular day-to-day charges.
History
The business was founded in 2016 by Dele Bakare, a web developer and co-founder of Jobs in Nigeria, and has now grown to include a mid-sized development and operations team all located in Lagos, Nigeria. Findworka is a company built on the model of on-demand for temporary tasks and services. The service has a growing community of buyers of various types of work that are supplied by freelance artisans and professionals. Participants in the gig economy may provide their products or services working in offices, factories, on the road (i.e.: providing driver and delivery services), or as in the case of online marketplaces for digitally delivered services, they may even work at home.
