Finnegan Frayn "Finn" Harries (born 13 May 1993) is an English vlogger, designer and entrepreneur. He is best known for the YouTube channel JacksGap, which he runs with his twin brother Jack.[1]

Early life[edit]

Finn Harries was born in London, England to television and film producer, Andy Harries, and author and director, Rebecca Frayn. Finn and Jack's maternal grandfather is playwright and novelist Michael Frayn.[1][2] Finn is two minutes older than Jack, and they have a younger sister, Emmy Lou.[1] He grew up in Chiswick, London and attended The Harrodian School from the ages of eight to eighteen where, in addition to the required courses, he studied Media Studies, Graphic Design, Spanish and History. He briefly attended the University of Leeds after his gap year but left after the first term.[2]

Vlogger[edit]

Finn is part of the YouTube channel JacksGap. Initially launched by Jack at the beginning of his gap year, Finn first became involved in November 2011 with the launch of their first joint video - ‘Twins’.[1] The channel follows the two brothers on their journey since leaving school. The video content ranges from vlogs and comedy sketches, to bungee jumping, unicycling and making balloon animals, as well as documenting the twins' travels to Rome, Ibiza, South Africa, New York City, Thailand, and India. They film, edit and produce all of the videos, with occasional help from friends.[1][2]

In February 2013, JacksGap reached 1 million subscribers, 2 million in July 2013 and 3 million in November 2013. The channel's subscriber demographics are estimated to be 88% female, ranging in age from twelve to seventeen.[1] The channel receives a daily average of 7,000 subscribers and 250,000 views.[3]

In 2013, Finn (along with his brother Jack), were nominated for Radio 1's Teen Award for Best British Vlogger.

Entrepreneur[edit]

Finn started his first company during his gap year: a website that allowed students to access local discounts by showing their discount card at certain shops and venues. It was originally called "Thirstpass" however later changed to "The Monster Card." Finn entered the idea into the UCL Bright Idea Awards along with his team in 2012. It won the undergraduates category and received a grant of £12,000.[4]

Personal life[edit]

Jack and Finn work full-time on running JacksGap. They are currently working in an office, on vlogs filmed in India called the 'Rickshaw Run' which they participated with Will Darbyshire, Louis Cole, Max Cantellow, Harry Crowder and Ben Brown. Finn and Jack also run a website, [www.jacksgap.com], that enables them to connect with the JacksGap community, post blogs, have a shop (which is still in the process of being online) and a section where they can post their videos.
