Finn Mackay

Finn Mackay (born 1977/1978) is a British sociologist and radical trans feminist[1] campaigner.

Mackay is a lecturer in sociology at the University of Bristol[2] and identifies as "a queer butch, or transmasc, identifying with much in the trans-with-an-asterisk label".[3] During their[lower-alpha 1] teenage years, Mackay was part of an all-women's peace camp, where they became involved in lesbian feminism.[4]

Mackay founded the London Feminist Network, a group helping victims of domestic violence, and has argued against pornographication.[4] They have also led a revival of the "Reclaim the Night" movement,[2] and have written about its history.[5] Mackay returned to academia to study the changes in the British women's liberation movement.[6]

In 2021, Mackay wrote Female Masculinities and the Gender Wars: The Politics of Sex.[2][7]
