Firestarter is an upcoming American horror film directed by Keith Thomas, based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King and reboot of the 1984 film of the same name.

Development[edit]
On April 27, 2017, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse Productions announced a reboot of Firestarter, with Akiva Goldsman directing and producing with Jason Blum and Martha De Laurentiis.[1] On June 28, 2018, Faith Akin replaced Goldsman as the film’s director and Scott Teems is writing the script.[2] On December 16, 2019, Keith Thomas replaced Akin and Teems is still writing the script.[3]
