First Advantage is a background screening company based in Atlanta, Georgia. It is a portfolio company of the Symphony Technology Group[2], which is a strategic private equity firm. On April 3, 2017[3], Scott Staples was appointed as the CEO[4]. He co-founded Mindtree Limited in 1999[5][6]. First Advantage have offices in 26 locations across 14 countries worldwide.[7]
First Advantage was awarded a bronze STEVIE® Winner for leveraging feedback analytics to drive positive change under the category of Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year - Technology Industries in the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service, 2019.[8]
Acquisitions[edit]
First Advantage acquired Recruiternet Inc. in September 2005[9]. ITax Group was acquired by the company on April 12, 2015.[10] In 2013, the company bought LexisNexis Risk Solutions‘ employment and resident screening business[11]. LexisNexis Risk Solutions is a division of Reed Elsevier[12]. Before LexisNexis the company also acquired Findly, a requirement platform on October 1 2012[13] and on October 30, 2013 the company acquired Verifications, Inc. after entering into a definite agreement.[14]
Partnerships[edit]
First Advantage has partnered with Workday and Oracle Cloud as an integrated solution to provide background screening services.[15][16] Uber, a ride sharing and taxi services app tied up with First Advantage to conduct a background verification on all their driver partners on its platform, following the alleged rape of a 25 year old woman passenger by a driver in Delhi, India in December 2014.[17]

The company has been releasing their Trends Report which gives an insight into the Global Employment Screening Services market for growth and business opportunities and forthcoming market size projection[18]. Data points from First Advantage along with other background screening players like HireRight, GoodHire, Authbridge, Insperity and others are being used by marketing research companies.[19] [20]
