First Church of Christ, Scientist is a historic Christian Science church located on Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh, North Carolina. Worship services are held weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays.[1] The church's reading room is located on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.[2]

Christian Scientists began holding meetings at devotee's homes in Raleigh in 1914. In 1917 the group of Raleigh Christian Scientists had been recognized by The First Church of Christ, Scientist as a society. In 1923 they were granted recognition as the first Christian Science church in Raleigh by the Christian Science headquarters. In 1925, the congregation purchased a plot of land on Hillsborough Street and began building the church, which was completed in 1931.[3] The first service in the church was held on September 6, 1931.[4]
