The spouse of the president of Singapore, also known as the first lady or first gentleman of Singapore outside of Singapore, is the spouse of the incumbent president of Singapore. Unlike many countries, the position is largely ceremonial, with the spouse playing a protocol role, as it is not an office.
Mohammed Abdullah Alhabshee has been the spouse of the president of Singapore since 2017, after his wife Halimah Yacob, had won the 2017 presidential election by an uncontested walkover and sworn into office on 14 September 2017.[1]
By tradition, an official portrait of the president's spouse is prominently displayed alongside the president's in government buildings.[2]
