Fisayo Fosudo (born 23 October 1995), also known professionally as Fisayo, is a Nigerian YouTuber, best known for his technology-focused videos. The channel, whose name is a combination of his first and last name as "Fisayo Fosudo" has over 26 thousand subscribers and over 1 million total video views. In 2018, Fisayo was nominated for two awards in Nigeria, namely "The Future Awards Africa Nigeria Prize for New Media" by The Future Awards Africa,[1] and "City People Music Award for Vlogger of the Year" by City People Music Awards.[2]

Personal life[edit]

Fisayo grew up in Lagos, Nigeria. He graduated from University of Lagos, where he majored in Economics. Fisayo has professional background in brand communication and technology before he became a full-time YouTuber. He developed an interest in video technology at 17 years of age but resorted into reading Wired magazine and several other technology magazines. He learned graphics design along the line and was able to save up from his graphics design works to set up his video production gears.[3]

YouTube career[edit]

Fisayo's first video was a documentation of his experience with an Uber Driver in Lagos, Nigeria.[citation needed] His videos for the African technology market are noted for their storytelling style. He is best known in Nigeria for his video content about smartphones. [4]

As of December 2018, his channel has increased over 26,000 subscribers, making Fisayo one of the most subscribed-to "tech" YouTube channels in Nigeria. Fisayo uploads at least one video per week. The channel receives an average of over 160 subscribers every day as of December 2018.[5]

On the 31st of January, 2018, he was selected to go to the National Assembly, Abuja to meet with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki presenting ideas on collaboration between the Public and the Senate under the Public Senate Project.[citation needed]

Fisayo's reviews have been promoted by brands such as Infinix and other review sites/social media pages as well. In February 2018, Fisayo was featured by BellaNaija as one of the Top 10 Vloggers to watch in 2018[6] and by TheNET.ng as one of the 10 Nigerian YouTubers that you will love watching.[7] He's also been featured as part of YNaija's New Establishment List of 2018[8] (A yearly list compiled by YNaija showcasing 50 exceptional, bright and most promising Nigerian Youths) and on the 23rd of July 2018, he was interviewed on the 37th page of Business Day's Newspaper where he spoke about his YouTube journey.[3]

Fisayo was Interviewed in May 2018 on Channels Television's Network Africa show where he talked about the state of Mobile Technology in Africa.[citation needed] He has also been interviewed on Silverbird TV and Television Continental (TVC).[citation needed] In June 2018, Fisayo was invited by Infinix alongside other popular Tech video producers to witness the launch of Infinix Note 5 in Dubai.[citation needed]

Fisayo was nominated for "The Future Awards Africa Nigeria Prize for New Media" by The Future Awards Africa in December 2018 [1] alongside, Chidi Okereke (30) Digital Communications Professional, Nkechi (Ink) Eze (29) Founder of Aso-EbiBella, Hope Obeten (30) CEO/Founder @CalabarBlog and John Obidi (32) Online Business Coach.[9][10]
