Fizz & Peppers at the Bottom of the World is a 2013 novel by American author M. G. King.[1]. The plot follows a young boy, Colin, who discovers trolls living under his house. Synopsis[edit]

Trolls turn to stone when they come into contact with sunlight. They can be revived only when being struck by lightning, or coming in contact with a carbonated drink. A rivalry between Colin Colbeck, the son of baker parents, and his next door neighbor Pepper ends up inadvertently waking up a troll after Pepper explodes a fizzy drink during a confrontation.

A year later, Colin's grandmother goes missing, and he has to team up with Pepper and his little brother Sid to investigate where she's gone. After discovering trolls living under Sid's bed, the trio has to embark on an underground journey to rescue Colin's grandmother. Travelling through an underground tunnel, and teaming up with the trolls from under Sid's bed, they discover a city of trolls, who is at war with the trolls living underneath the Colbecks' house. The boys' grandmother is a prisoner in the city. While attempting to rescue their grandmother, they start a war between the two groups of trolls, which ends up with the ancient leaders of the trolls being revived. The underground battle ends when the ground, weakened by the troll battle, cracks, destroying the Colbecks' house, and the trolls turn back into stone.
