Symbolism[edit]
Golden double-headed eagle comes from the coat of arms of the Sanok Land, which today's Brzozów County was a part of. There's a theory saying that the Sanok Land symbols are connected to the Opole's coat of arms, because Duke of Opole, Władysław II Opolczyk was ruling over the Red Ruthenia, including Sanok Land. The birch refers to the capital city, Brzozów (English: Town of Birch).
The blue colour of background symbolizes Sanok Land, the purity of the sky and the San river. It is the colour of God's Mother. Gold symbolizes God's greatness and royalty.[1]
