Flash Coffee is one of Asia’s tech-enabled coffee chains[6], serving up specialty coffee. Launched in Jakarta in January 2020 and headquartered in Singapore, Flash Coffee currently has 242 stores across Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan. Drinks are curated by World Latte Art champions Robby Firlian and Arnon Thitiprasert[7]
The company announced the completion of Series A round financing to a total of US$15 million in April 2021[8] backed by Rocket Internet[9], Delivery Hero, White Star Capital, Global Founders Capital and Conny & Co.
History[edit]
In Jan 2020, Flash Coffee opened the first store at Pacific Place Jakarta, a multipurpose building located in the Sudirman Central Business District, South Jakarta, Indonesia. 5 months later, the coffee chain launched their first store in Bangkok, Thailand at the Samyan Mitrtown shopping centre before going on to launch in Singapore in September 2020. The first store in Singapore was opened at Oxley Tower, in the heart of the central business district.
The rapid expansion of the company in the 3 markets saw them pocket a Series A US$15 million investment[8] in April 2021. With the investment, Flash Coffee penetrated the Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan markets. The first store in Taiwan was opened in Taipei in Aug 2021 at the Xingtian Temple metro station and the first store in Hong Kong was opened in September 2021 at the Golden Centre in Sheung Wan[3]. In November 2021, Flash Coffee opened its first store in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam, which is also their 2-story flagship store in Seoul, Korea[4]. In December 2021, the first store in Japan was opened at the Omotesandō Station[5]
