Florence Nampijja is a Ugandan TV presenter, business woman and actor who works as the hosts of Tucacance which airs on BBS Telefayina station[1][2]
Education and Background[edit]
She was born from Minyinya, in Masaka District in 1992. She is the last born of the nine children of Vincent Ganyana and Elizabeth Kalimungoma of Masaka. She studied from Rubaga Girls Primary school and later she completed her Primary Leaving Examination from St Athanasius primary school in Mengo, central Uganda, She completed both her Uganda Certificate of Education and also Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education from Blessed Sacrament Secondary School, Kimanya in Masaka District. She later went to Makerere University from where she graduated with a Bachelors degree in Mass communication[1].
She obtained a certificate in music, dance and drama in 2014 from Crane Media Institute. And while still at Crane Media Institute, she was also pursuing a Bachelor of Economics at Makerere University from where she graduated in January 2015[1].
Carrier Background[edit]
She started her acting carrier with StreamLine Production in 2004. She later joined the Zubair Family. She has acted in movies such as Enyonta, Facebook, Akakwakulizo, Akadanyuma, Akakyama, and plays such Ganemeredde, Najjanani and series such Ekirungo, and many others. The 29-year-old actress also works with BBS television where she hosts the 5pm to 6:30pm ‘Tukyakyankye’, an entertainment Programme, from Mondays to Fridays[1]. She started working with BBS Tv the day it was launched after her university[3]
Her Tucacance show was nominated for the unconventional TV show of the Year Award on the Media Challenge Awards nomination list a category that had more known people in the TV business such as Calvin the Entertainer, Douglas Lwanga, MC KATS(Edwin Katamba), Flavia Namulindwa[4]. She is a business woman who owns a boutique called Florahs Secret situated in Mengo, Rubaga Division[5][6].
