Florian Wagner (born July 31, 1999 in Landau an der Isar) is a German professional musician and law student.

Personal life[edit]

Wagner is the son of the teacher Angela Wagner[1] and Max Wagner, a computer scientist and risk manager at DB Systel.[2] His grandfather Max Wagner (senior) is an honorary citizen of Adldorf and was mayor of Eichendorf from 1972 to 2002.[3] Wagner currently lives with his parents in Landau an der Isar.

Music career[edit]

At the age of 6 months, Wagner was already plucking his father's guitar. From the age of two he sang and drummed his first songs with his parents before he received piano lessons from two private teachers from the age of five.[4] Later he also took guitar lessons. After absolving 12 years of school music lessons and singing lessons at the Grundschule Landau (2006-2009) and at the Gymnasium Landau a. d. Isar (2010-2018) with top marks, Wagner passed the Bavarian Music Abitur "Additum" with the highest possible score of 15 points each in piano, singing and music theory in 2018.[5] At highschool, Wagner performed as a vocal soloist and pianist with background choirs, orchestras and big bands at many highschool concerts.[6] He also took part in numerous music performances together with his parents and other musicians.

Since 2019, Wagner has been giving music lessons and teaches music to several groups of pupils at an educational institute in Landau. In October 2019 he began studying law at the University of Passau.

Since 2008 Florian Wagner has been participating in music performances and concerts in the styles of classical music, film music and modern music and regularly posts videos where he plays and sings virtuosic piano arrangements and vocal covers on his Social Media where many thousand people are following his music. At some concerts he lets the entire audience sing and clap along.[7]

Wagner also developed the complex music style "multimusic". There, he has often sung and played many songs and pieces simultaneously in medleys on multiple pianos, drums and kick drums at the same time so far. In this area, Wagner is currently working with Guinness World Records on a world record of singing 20 pop songs as a medley and playing them simultaneously on three pianos, a drum, a kick drum and a cymbal without any audible errors.[8]

Trivia[edit]

At his grandfathers honorary citizenship celebration on June 3, 2022, Wagner performed a number of songs and pieces. Spectators included leading Bavarian politicians such as Mdl Dr. Petra Loibl, Heinrich Trapp and the count Arco-Valley family, all of whom clapped along to Wagner's music.[9]

Florian Wagner is passionate about animals, which is why he and 5 other musicians donated the proceeds from their benefit concert "Florian Wagner Und Seine Musiker" on September 23, 2022 in the Landau townhall to local animal shelters in the Dingolfing-Landau district.[10]

On October 8th, 2022, Florian Wagner was booked to provide musical accompaniment for the autumn meeting of the Wasserwacht BV Niederbayern / Oberpfalz on a boat trip in Kelheim.[11]
