The Flota Mercante Grancolombiana (In english Colombian Ocean Freight Merchant Fleet) was a S.A. (corporation) with public and private capital, formed by civil ships and vessels, dedicated to trade activities as trading and freight transport via interoceanic. Initially the Fleet worked for get better colombian coffee's trading after the World War II.
The Fleet had was founded in 1946 and started operations in 1947. Their partners were colombian, ecuadorian and venezuelan governments, and private funds from National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia (Fedecafé in spanish). The S.A. was liquidated in 1997 and it became in a company of TMM Group, a mexican ocean freight.
