History
Fluent Commerce was founded in 2013 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, by Mehdi Fassaie. The company was initially known as Fluent Retail before adopting the name Fluent Commerce.[2][3]
Fluent Commerce raised a Series A funding round in December 2017,[4] followed by a further round in August 2019.[5][6] In February 2026, Fluent Commerce secured A$46 million in new funding from Bain Capital to support international expansion and development of AI features.[7]
Products and Technology
Fluent Commerce develops software for distributed order management in retail and e-commerce environments. Its principal platform, Fluent Order Management, is a cloud-native, API-based system used to manage inventory, route orders, and support fulfillment across stores, distribution centers, and third-party logistics providers.[8][2][1]
The platform includes inventory visibility across fulfillment locations, order orchestration and business-rule configuration, store-based fulfillment, omnichannel services such as click and collect, ship-from-store, curbside pickup, and returns, as well as business-to-business order management.[9][10]
In January 2026, the company launched Fluent Connect, an integration platform that connects its order management software to third-party systems, including payment providers, carriers, and point-of-sale platforms.[11]

Fluent Commerce serves retailers and brands in sectors including fashion, luxury goods, sporting goods, and home improvement. Notable customers include JD Sports, L'Oréal, LVMH, Prada Group, ALDO Group, Dulux, Kingfisher, Emma – The Sleep Company, Secretlab, and Hibbett (part of JD Group).[12][13]
Recognition and Awards
In The Forrester Wave: Order Management Systems, Q2 2023, Fluent Commerce was classified as a Strong Performer. In the Q1 2025 edition of the report, the company was named a Leader.[14]
In 2024, staff members of Fluent Commerce were listed among the finalists for ARN's Women in ICT Awards (WIICTA).[15]
