Foamite

Foamite was a fire-extinguishing foam originally created by the O.J. Childs company in Utica, and subsequently sold by the American LaFrance Company after O.J. Childs was acquired by American LaFrance. It was used in the novel artificial snow formulation first used on the set of It's a Wonderful Life.
