Fobia is a indie 2D puzzle-platformer adventure game[1] created by Russian indie developer Eugene Lazebny and published by Tapteek. The player controls a girl who tries to run away from her fears that get real shapes of animals.
When a player starts to play, it looks like a simple game. Beautiful forest, the sounds of nature and birds. It seems a relaxing game where you just need to run. But over time you realize it is not simple game. Anything in the game can kill you. Everything is not what it seems. Reviewers warned that not all players would appreciate the high level of difficulty.
Fobia was the first game by Tapteek, a Russian indie game development studio consisting of a married couple Eugene Lazebny and Tatyana Lazebnaya. Eugene worked on level design, artwork and code, while his wife Tatyana worked artwork and animation. The music for the game was created by Dmitry Agafonov.
The game was released for iOS and Apple TV on April 2018, for OS X on May 2018, for Microsoft Windows and Linux on June 2018 and for Android on December 2016. Versions for the Nintendo Switch are scheduled to arrive on July 2019. The game has been selected as one of the 20 finalists of the Indie Games Showcase from Google Play in 2019![2]
Gameplay[edit]
The player controls a little girl in a red cloak - our protagonist. The game is a pretty straight forward platformer, running and jumping to avoid enemies and navigating the puzzles and traps. The controls for the game only require moving left and right and jumping. There are two different endings.[3]
