FoodForest is a Belgian documentary released 2022, made by activist-entrepreneur and landscape designer Louis De Jaeger.[1]

Story[edit]

In this documentary, landscape designer Louis De Jaeger goes around Belgium on his folding bike in search of the inspiring stories of food forest pioneers. He starts in Belgium's oldest foodforest, created by Gilbert Cardon, visits a food forest in a psychiatric hospital, an edible city park in Maldegem and many more. In De Woudezel he discovers rare edible plants such as the Decaisnea fargesii and the pawpaw, in De Verwildering he discovers the aronia.

He explores what has gone wrong in agriculture and how food forests can provide a solution to human and planetary burnout.
