The English Football League (EFL) is a professional football league in England. Established in 1888 as the Football League, it was the first ever football league.
Until the Premier League broke away in 1992 it included the top tier of English football. Its divisions are currently at tiers 2-4 of the English pyramid.
Four clubs in the EFL are from Wales.
