The Premier League is a professional football league at the top tier of English football.
It was established in 1992, breaking away from the Football League. It is the most popular league in the world and has produced a number of successful teams in European competitions.
Since 1995 it has had 20 teams playing a double round-robin system, totalling to 38 matches for each team.
