Footwork (football)
Footwork in the sport of football refers to the technique a footballer employs as he or she manipulates the ball using their feet.[1] Footwork is descriptive of a similar skill in various disciplines.[2]
While the game of football is a team effort, footwork refers to the skill of an individual player to move and manipulate the ball past their opponent using only their feet. It is a particular form of kicking a football.
Some forms of football, such as American football, manipulate the ball mainly with the hands, but in association football only the goalkeeper is allowed to use their hands. The other players use footwork, with a variety of skills, and it is often the particular skill of footwork that distinguishes the best players in the world, such as Cristiano_Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, who have each won a record-tying five Ballon d'Or awards. There are many YouTube videos demonstrating how to improve one's footwork.
