Foreign Malign Influence Center[edit]

The Foreign Malign Influence Center (FMIC) is a United States government organization responsible for countering threats posed by hostile foreign actors seeking to influence government, public opinion, and behaviors. It is a part of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI).[1]

History[edit]

The ODNI Election Threats Executive is the predecessor organization to FMIC. It was established in 2019 to serve as the DNI's principle advisor on election threats and security matters. On September 23, 2022, the FMIC, chartered by Congress, was established by the DNI.[2]

Role[edit]

The Foreign Malign Influence Center "integrates analysis, manages the intelligence mission, nurtures partnerships, and provides comprehensive assessments and indications and warning of foreign malign influence".[3]

Leadership[edit]

Jeffrey K. Wichman serves currently as the Director of the Foreign Malign Influence Center (D/FMIC).[4]
