Fragrance and Flavours Association of India (FAFAI) is a national, non-governmental trade association based in Mumbai, India.[1] FAFAI, in collaboration with the Government of India, has recently published a compendium of 9000 ingredients used to manufacture fragrances. The document will become the reference book for the industry to follow and use,[2] for which the association has received appreciation from the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi as well as the MSME minister Nitin Gadkari.[3]

Background[edit]

FAFAI was set up by a group of businessmen to protect the economic, commercial and trade interests of its members in India.[4] FAFAI was formed on July 23, 1949 with K.H. Dhamdhere as its first president[5] and grew into a national association with over 800 members across the country.[6][7][8]

Office bearers[edit]

In their 70th annual general meeting, Fragrance and Flavours association of India has appointed Rishabh Kothari as its president for the period of 2019-2021.[4][9][10] He is CEO of CKC based out of Kolkata, India.[7]
