Career

Cezan’s debut album, Alma en Libertad, was recorded with WEA Latina (a Warner Brothers Music Group label) and released in the summer of 2000. Her first single, "Polos Opuestos"—written by acclaimed songwriter Jorge Luis Piloto—was nominated for Best Pop Single at Puerto Rico’s Premios Tu Música in 2001. The follow-up single, "Alma en Libertad," was later re-recorded by Paulina Rubio in 2004.

Following her debut success, Cezan began developing her first English-language album. After WEA Latina’s restructuring, she signed with the independent label Connoisseur Records in 2003, collaborating with notable producers including John Shanks, Matthew Gerrard, and The Matrix in Los Angeles.

In addition to her music career, Cezan appeared on Saturday Night Live in May 2025, portraying Marcelo Hernandez’s mother in the Mother’s Day Cold Open of the Walter Higgins–hosted episode during the show’s 50th season.
