Francis Adefarakanmi Agbede is a Nigerian monarch. He has been the 13th Olowa of Igbara-oke kingdom, Ondo State, since 2017.

Biography

He was born on 24 July 1954 into a royal dynasty of Ogidi[disambiguation needed] to Chief Ezekiel Abiodun Agbede, a retired police officer, and his mother, Mrs. Florence, a trader. He attended the Baptist Primary School in Kaduna and later proceeded to Anglican Grammar School in Igbara-Oke. He earned a degree in Business Administration at Bayero University, Kano, Nigeria, and later went overseas for his postgraduate education.

He has worked as a teacher, administrator, accountant, and as a security and intelligence consultant. He is the Chairman of Crown Continental Limited.

He is a member of different professional bodies: Member of American Society of Industrial Security, MASIS; Member, Nigerian Institute of Management, MNIM; Member, British Chartered Institute of Management, MBCIM; Member of the World Association of Detectives, MWAD; Fellow of the Institute of Fraud Examiners of Nigeria, African Awareness School, an Affiliate of Babcock University; Fellow, Certified Institute of Management, FCIM.

Honours and Awards

For his outstanding contributions to human and community development, he has been honoured by different organizations within and outside the country. He has been given:

  • Award of Excellence by the Igbara-Oke Citizens in the Americas Inc;
  • Excellent Leadership Award by Trust Foundation, All Saints University of America;
  • Award of Excellence by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, both Ondo and Oyo State Chapters;
  • Pillar of Sports Award in Ondo State;
  • Pillar of Security in Nigeria by Education Research Publishers;
  • Award of Integrity by Anti-Corruption Awareness Organisation, Nigeria;
  • Eminent Nigerian Leadership Award by Toplead Communications;
  • African Leader of Integrity by Africa International Magazine;
  • Distinguished Industrial and Human Development Monarch Par Excellence by School of Management Technology, Federal University of Technology, Akure.
