Francis Dore (1933- 2019) was a French diplomat, and lawyer, known for his contributions to Franco-Indian relationships and European integration.[1][2] In 2003, he received the Padma Shri award[3] by Indian president A. P. J Abdul Kalam, one of India's highest civil honors, for his work in public affairs.[3]
Career
Dore started studying Political Science and Law, Later hired as a professor at the Faculty of Law in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The Royal Government under Prince Sihanouk appointed him as a legal adviser due to his expertise.
In 1965, he became cultural and scientific adviser at the French Embassy in India,[4] where he worked for a decade to enhancing diplomatic ties between France and India. During this period, he played a crucial role in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between the two nations.[5][6]
Death
He died on 5 September 2019.
