Franco Montanari (born: 24 May 1950) is an Italian classical scholar, author, academic and university professor.
He specialized in Latin literature and Ancient Greek literature.
Life
He was born on 24 May 1950 in Sannazzaro de' Burgondi, Italy.
Education
He attended the Liceo Foscolo in Pavia.[1]
He completed his graduate degree in Greek Literature in 1973 at the University of Pisa.[2]
Career
In 1977, he became a full professor of Byzantine Philology. In 1983 he became an associate professor of Greek Grammar at the University of Pisa.[3]
From 1986 to 2020, he served as full professor of Greek Language and Literature at the University of Genoa.[4]
