Frank Janssen is a Belgian academic and a full professor at the Louvain School of Management (LSM), part of the Université catholique de Louvain (UCLouvain).[1] He leads the interdisciplinary entrepreneurship program INEO, which is integrated into several master's degrees at UCLouvain.[2][3] The INEO program is ranked in the “Entrepreneurship” segment of the Eduniversal “Best Masters” ranking.[4]
Biography
Frank Janssen holds master’s degrees in Law and Economics from UCLouvain, an MBA from Western Carolina University (United States), and a PhD in Management Science from the Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 (France). Before entering academia, he practiced as a lawyer at the Brussels Bar, specializing in financial and business law. He has also conducted expert missions for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the European Union (EU), and several national and regional governments on SME and entrepreneurship policy.
Academic career
Since 2002, Janssen has been a professor at UCLouvain, where he teaches entrepreneurship and strategy.[1] He has been a visiting professor at the University of Lorraine, EDHEC Business School, HEC Paris and the University of Cologne, and has delivered lectures in universities across Europe, Africa, Asia and the United States. He served as director of the Louvain Research Institute in Management and Organizations (LouRIM)[5] and as president of the AIREPME.[6][7] He has also been vice-dean for international affairs and later vice-dean for education at the Louvain School of Management.
Research
Janssen's research focuses on several themes: entrepreneurship and society, social and sustainable entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial behavior, and organizational growth. He is the author or coauthor of around sixty peer-reviewed journal articles, several books, and numerous book chapters. His work has been published in journals such as Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice,[8] Small Business Economics,[9] Journal of Business Research,[10] Entrepreneurship & Regional Development,[11] International Small Business Journal,[12] PLOS One,[13] and Frontiers in Psychology.[14]
