Life and Career
Frankie Midnight was born and raised in the mild violent inner city of Miami Gardens. He brought his first acoustic guitar at age 14 (with money he earned from selling candy in school) and became attached. Exiling himself in his room, he practiced and familiarized himself with his guitar, covering songs by listening to a record and then mimicking what he heard. He began using the doing the same with the piano, bass, keyboard, and drums. Soon after, he started recreating entire cover songs (with his home recording interface), performing every instrument until his final product was an exact replica to the original version, mostly indistinguishable. He began writing, composing, arranging and producing his own music shortly after at age 16, engineering and mixing his home recordings. He started many local bands around town in which they would learn his original compositions and perform around Miami.
Prior to a path of music, Midnight performed as an actor on theater and stage. At the age of 10, he studied the teachings of Sandford Meisner's method acting techniques, created by Stanislavsky. Frankie also studied classical theater acting and began performing in many local theater productions such as Linda Agyapong’s stage production of "Christopher Baker", Miami Jackson Sr. High stage Production of "Oldie Goldie Show" (starring as Jimi Hendrix and Michael Jackson), Miami Stage Production of "A Raisin In The Sun" (starring as Travis Younger), and many other stage productions. In 2016, he starred as himself in the Juggerknot Theater Company production[1] called, Miami Motel Stories[2], an interactive theater performance set in an historic motel (the tower hotel) in Little Havana.[3] Shortly after the release of his album, "Love Stories", he began writing and performing short theatrical pieces pertaining to songs from the album.
Love Stories (Debut Studio Album)
Love Stories is Frankie Midnight's debut studio album. The album was recorded in Midnight's home studio located Miami Gardens, FL.[4] The sessions began in early November of 2017 with drums being the first instruments recorded followed by electric bass guitar and 6 string electric guitar.[4] Once the rhythm foundations were laid down, piano, organ, and strings were recorded next. The last to be recorded were vocals which were all performed by Midnight.[4] He used techniques of overdubbing and multi-layering to record all of the instruments himself. Final mixing and mastering took place early January at H2 Studios of the Arts located in Miami Lakes, FL with a digital pre-order release on January 17, 2018 via iTunes and Google Play Store and an official digital release on February 14th, 2018 via iTunes, Google Play Store[5] and Amazon[6]. The album was also made available for stream via Spotify[7], Apple Music[8], YouTube Music, Deezer and Tidal.[4]
