Freddy Fazbear is a fictional character and the main antagonist from the Five Nights at Freddy's franchise. He is a animatronic resembling a bear, who appears as the mascot of Fazbear Entertainment and its locations, such as Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

Development

Freddy Fazbear was originally conceptualized after the failure of Scott Cawthon's prior work, Chipper and Sons Lumber Co. in response to reviews referring to the characters as being animatronic like. Freddy would be modeled on May 28, 2014. Originally conceived with the name Freddybear, sometime between his creation and the release of the original Five Nights at Freddy's.
