Frederic Bernard

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Frederic Bernard (born on November 2nd 1988) is a German music composer, orchestrator and pianist.

Early Life[edit]

Frederic Bernard began to play the piano by the age of eight. Yet in this early stage he started to develop a profound interest in film and videogame scores, which also inspired him to write on first compositions for the piano.

In his youth he started to develop a distinct fascination for reading and analyzing music a few years later on. To get more knowledge about the art of orchestration, he transcribed douzens of full-orchestral music scores by ear.

Later he enrolled for a Bachelor‘s degree in classical music at the University of Music Freiburg, where he studied under Prof. Eckehard Kiem (a former student of the avant-garde composer Brian Ferneyhough) and many other luminaries.

Career[edit]

Today he is working as a music composer, orchestrator and pianist in full-time. Credits and references include major brands, television channels and advertisement agencies across the globe, among others: Sony, Doritos, Intel, Canon, Sixt, AXA, Caritas/Diakonie, NBC Sports, National Geographic, MLB, NESN, KI.KA/RBB/ARTE (German TV), Hearst Corp., or Time Inc. His portfolio spans many different productions: from television comercials, short films, feature films and documentaries, to viral Youtube productions.[1]

He released his music with several world-class stock footage agencies, including Getty Images[2], Epitome Music[3] and Score-A-Score - often under his Pseudonym "PianoPassion".

Additionally, he signed-up with several Los Angeles-based trailer music agencies. Worth pointing out here is the prestigious label Music Junkies[4], which evolved as the very first trailer music agency on the market. The trailer music productions were performed and recorded with the "Budapest Scoring Orchestra"[5] in Hungary and mixed by mixing/mastering luminaries John Rodd and Greg Townley.
