Fright-Rags is an American company known for releasing apparel based on horror films and other horror-related media. The company was founded in 2003 by Ben Scrivens, and is based in Rochester, New York.

History[edit]

Graphic designer and horror fan Ben Scrivens founded Fright-Rags in 2003.[1] He began designing T-shirts based on horror media, and when he shared some of his designs on an online forum, he quickly received positive feedback.[1] Scrivens devised a name, basic logo, and website for Fright-Rags during Labor Day weekend that year, and after spending $600 to create his first run of shirts, he received his first order from a customer on September 2, 2003.[1]

Fright-Rags has released officially licensed apparel and other products—such as trading cards and enamel pins—based on a number of properties, including Alien,[2][3] Child's Play,[4] E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,[5] Evil Dead,[6][7] The Fly,[7] The Gate,[8] Halloween,[4][9] Jaws,[5] Return of the Living Dead 3,[8] Saw,[10] Scream,[4] and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.[4][11]
