Funkinbiz (Kirils Ponomarenko) is a Latvian singer. With his team, he participaed in Supernova 2024 and placed 9th in finals.
Life and career[edit]
Early life[edit]
Ponomarenko is born in Riga, Lativa. He is of Russian and Ukrainian descent. He started his musical journey with tutelage of the renowned Armenian guitar master, Vaak Kjurdian's classical guitar classes. This ignited his musical passion and influenced his distinct style. Later, he refined his skills at the esteemed school of opera singer Žors Siksna, focusing on vocals and broadening his musical scope.
Music career[edit]
In 2022, Funkinbiz released his first single "Krome lyubvi" (Кроме любви).
Funkinbiz collaborates with producer Marcis Vasilevsiks to release "Tini" (Тіні), a compelling single sung in Ukrainian. Mixed by Toms Lisments and mastered by Robb Robinson, known for his work with Jason Mraz, the song quickly climbed to the top of Latvian radio charts in 2023.
In 2024, Funkinbiz and his team participated in Supernova with their track "Na Chystu Vodu" (на чисту воду), earning a place in the finals.
