Fyle is a financial technology company that develops expense management software. It is a subsidiary of The Sage Group. The company operates a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for expense reporting and commercial credit card reconciliation.
History
Fyle was founded in 2016 in Bangalore, India, by Yashwanth Madhusudhan and Sivaramakrishnan Narayanan. The founders had previously worked together at the big data company Qubole.[1]
In 2019, the company raised $4.2 million in a Series A funding round led by Tiger Global Management. Participation in the round included existing investors Pravega Ventures, Beenext, and Freshworks.[2][3] By 2019, the company reported a client base of approximately 200 businesses. [2]
On July 28, 2025, The Sage Group announced the acquisition of Fyle. The acquisition was part of Sage's strategy to embed automation into its financial management portfolio for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).[4][5][6]
Products and partnerships
Fyle's software integrates with commercial credit card networks to access transaction data in real-time. In 2022, the company launched an integration with Visa to provide real-time transaction feeds to users.[7] A similar integration with the Mastercard network was implemented in 2023.[8]
The platform utilizes AI to parse data from receipts submitted via text message, email, or mobile application, which is then reconciled with accounting software.[7]
Prior to its acquisition, the company established a partnership with American Express in 2024 to issue on-demand virtual cards.[9]
