History[edit]

The Beginning (1995-1999)[edit]

G.a.s. Drummers was a melodic hardcore band formed in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain at the end of 1997 by three teenagers who stood out from their other students due to their colourful hair dies and their taste in the california punk rock bands such as Bad Religion, Operation Ivy, NOFX, Lagwagon, The Descendents etc. Original members from other small local bands Dani Llamas (guitar and vocals), Pakomoto (Bass and vocals) and Rafa Camison (Drums) started playing together and composing their own music and after one year of sending demos around the country they got put as the opening act for Swedish Punk Rock band Randy on their Spanish tour. A tour that took the band through the whole country helping a lot of Spanish kids discover that there were actually Spanish bands capable of sounding as good as some of their favorite American bands. This lead immediately the band to sign to a young record label called Slide Chorus Records a young emerging record label from Madrid which would start releasing albums for other Spanish Punk Rock bands. This first release titled Proud To Be Nothing hit the streets at the end of 1999 and was presented on their first European tour which covered Spain, Great Britain, France and the Netherlands amongst Spanish punk rock legend[P.P.M.

The Minor boy Period (2000-2005)[edit]

In the year 2000 G.a.s. Drummers decide to add to their band a new second guitarist, Pablo "Minor Boy" nicknamed this way due to his obsession with the hardcore band Minor Threat. The band continues touring Europe and even make a visit to Canada to present their American Edition of their first album Proud to be nothing. Meanwhile, Europe they release another two albums, The True Charm of Bourgeoisie in 2002 through the Spanish label Wild Punk Records, and Dialectics on Bcore disc, an important indie label from Barcelona. This second album moves the band further away from their Melodic Hardcore roots and brings them closer to a post-hardcore sound similar to bands such as Hot Water Music.

Reinventing themselves (2005-2006)[edit]

Pakomoto leaves the band in 2005 to concentrate on personal matters, but leaves in good terms with the band. They sign on Pepe from 151 AD, a local band from the city of Cadiz. At this point they start working on their most recent album. A rock album named Standards Down which was also released by Bcore disc in 2005 with a sound that takes them away from their previous sounds further than ever, and making them sound like a mixture between some 90's alternative rock bands such as Dinosaur Jr or even Pearl Jam together with classic rock acts such as Neil Young, The Kinks etc. However, most of their original followers appreciate the change and enjoy the melodies, although they sometimes mention that they miss the lack of speed driven energy.

Current events (2006-present)[edit]

Later on in 2006 Pakomoto rejoins the band once again to work with the band on their 5th album which was titled Decalogy. Pakomoto has now left the band once again and this time has been replaced by local bass player Jesus Cabral a.k.a. Chuchi.
