Evan Thomas Creque (born April 29, 2002), known professionally as G1SM0, and on the internet as gr8atness, is an aspiring American record producer, DJ, songwriter, remixer, gamer, writer, and internet personality. He prefers to play fast and loose when it comes to genres and sub-genres, often incorporating elements from Phonk, Jersey Club, Ambient, Drill, Lo-Fi, Rage, House, Chiptune, and more. His sped-up remix of his version of the song "So Innocent" by Shiloh Dynasty propelled him to a small amount of popularity. He has also taken a huge interest in many different kinds of aesthetics, which heavily influences his creative drive and process.

Early Life

Born in Manhattan, New York, Creque spent most of his life in the Bronx. His interest in music began when his mother and father played The Notorious B.I.G., Michael Jackson, Jay-Z, Nas, and Whitney Houston while Creque was growing up. In elementary school, he discovered Pop Music when listening to Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Mindless Behavior, and Maroon 5, and Owl City along with his classmates. In middle school, he took an interest in music production after discovering EDM and one of his favorite artists, deadmau5. He later began listening to artists such as Skrillex, XXXTENTACION, Zomboy, Diplo, DJ SNAKE, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Bad Royale, PnB Rock, Drake, Daft Punk, Jadakiss, Marshmello, and Ski Mask The Slump God. After working on his craft for about two years, he began his music career on Soundcloud in 2019, uploading experimental songs with different styles and genres, but primarily leaning towards electronic music at the time. As of 2023, he has either worked with or used the work of artists and producers like Yungcray, TheReal King Jay, Young $ensai, KEENX, NO AGONY, and waterjon.

Career

2019-2020: Career Beginnings and So Innocent

In 2019, Creque uploaded his first song to SoundCloud titled "Cooked Meat" which samples an old and viral YouTube video. After this he uploaded other tracks such as IT'S A TRAP, Dreams, Chuck Taylors, and multiple remixes of the popular anime, My Hero Academia, which he claimed to be his favorite anime. At the same time, he began taking an interest in Shiloh Dynasty, a famous internet artist popularized by other artists like Potsu and XXXTENTACION. He released his version of one of Shiloh's songs, "So Innocent." This song helped Creque take a small step forward in his career. In 2020, a different version of "So Innocent" was going viral on TikTok and Instagram, which elevated him a lot since he had released his own sped-up remix of this song, which boosted his Spotify and Apple Music platform by a considerable amount. In 2020, he also began uploading songs, gaming videos, remixes, and re-uploaded content from the internet onto his YouTube channel. He had almost lost his account however due to having two copyright strikes, forcing him to approach his content creation more cautiously by temporarily removing videos from his channel and creating gaming videos until the strikes expired.

2021-2023: Free For Profit Beats and BLEACH PHONK

In June of 2021, Creque graduated from Herbert H. Lehman High School and soon began his college journey at Hostos Community College. In February of 2022, G1SM0’s original SoundCloud account was terminated due to multiple copyright infringement violations. After learning from his mistakes, he created a new SoundCloud account, on which he uploads more original content. He continued to create remixes. However, wishing to avoid losing another account, Creque will occasionally release a remix that he had obtained explicit permission to release. In August of 2022, he created and released a new single titled “BLEACH PHONK.” This song would go on to become one of his most prominent singles, alongside other songs such as “U Are Watchin' a Master at Work,” “Himiko Toga,” and “L.S. Mob.” As of May 2023, Creque has been offered multiple record deals and offers from labels like Universal Music Group, all of which he has declined or hasn’t responded to.

Personal life

As of 2023, G1SM0 continues to live in the Bronx and continues to create music, playing games such as Overwatch 2, Cyberpunk 2077, The Sims 4, and Grand Theft Auto V. His current goals are to find a job and financially support himself and his family.
